Mark here, just stopping by to say welcome to my review of Media.net and just wanted to let you know I’ve been involved with online marketing for over ten years now, and I have seen a lot of good, even great products offered over the years, but I have also experienced some real crap as well.

I promise not to bore you with endless bonus after bonus offers or annoying upsells, ultimately it will be up to you to make an informed decision on whether or not the product is right for you.

I make every attempt to research and provide a fair assessment of all products I review.

What Is Media.net?

Media.net is a contextual ad network that is partnered with the Yahoo!-Bing network that provides highly relevant ads related to your website’s content. Media.net puts ad relevancy front and center which in turn leads to a high level of user engagement with the ads which in turn provides a much higher return for publishers with a better RPM rate.

Media.net is a popular alternative to Adsense and currently reaches more than 100 million US desktop users.

Representatives from Media.net will then review your application and once you are approved you will be assigned an account manager and receive your login details. It’s a good idea to make sure your site has a good amount of content before applying, sites that are new with little content generally won’t be accepted, it happened to me a couple of years ago with another ad company.

Media.net Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Great customer support
  • Several high converting ad options
  • Every publisher gets a dedicated account manager
  • Works well with Adsense
  • Real-time tracking and reporting

Cons

  • Relies on traffic from U.S, Canada, and the UK
  • Account approval might be a little more difficult compared to similar programs

Final Thoughts On Media.net

I am currently using Media.net along with another similar ad program and so far I am pleased with the results. Media.net, in my opinion, is a good alternative to Adsense but can also be used alongside Adsense if you want. Generally speaking, Media.net does not pay as much as Adsense but is still a powerful way to monetize your website none the less.

I will be doing regular updates on my progress with media.net and will be comparing it to some of the other ad networks currently available.

  1. Hi Mark
When i start getting some traffic to my new websites, i will look into ads. I have noticed many websites with Adsense where the ad is not related to the website niche or content. Whether this is the setup done wrongly by the website owner or not, these are distracting for the reader, and i have chosen not to try Adsense.
If i have control over the ads, and ensure they are relevant to my website’s niche and content, i will give them a go.
I’ll try them out later when i get traffic. Thanks for giving me an option, other than Adsense.
    Cheers

    1. Hi Greg and thanks for the comment. It’s always a good idea to wait until you have some decent traffic, I used to use Adsense but didn’t like it for many reasons one being just like you mentioned, no control over relevant ads. What I like about Media.net is they work hard to make sure that ads placed on your site are totally relevant to your sites content. Cheers!
