How To Market Your Business On A Budget – Best Tactics For 2017
Whether you are someone who is on a fixed income, earning minimum wage, or just struggling to make ends meet, spending money trying to market your home-based business may not be a viable option. But wait! Marketing your home based business on a budget is possible and can be very effective.
Many of the traditional marketing methods can be costly and hard to measure, but with greater access to low-cost, trackable marketing tools, home-based business owners are able to market their businesses more easily and for very little investment. So, if you were wondering how to market your business on a budget, here are some ideas that should help you along the way.
So, Where To Start?
The first thing that comes to mind is social media, most of us are familiar with Facebook. Facebook is a very powerful, mostly free platform that will help you get your message out to the masses. You will want to join Facebook groups that are relevant to what your home based business is about and post to these groups daily. Just as effective and mostly free to use also are Google Groups, Yahoo, Twitter, Pinterest, and Linkedin. There are others but these are the ones I like.
One of my favorite places to hang out and network with other online marketers and business owners is a very cool social interactive site that allows you to mingle with other like-minded individuals, share ideas, discuss popular topics and learn what is working for other people involved in home-based business and yes it’s free to join.
Promotional Business Cards:
You can have your personalized business cards printed from reputable companies such as Vistaprint for a very low cost. You can also print your own business cards at home at little or no cost.
Collect email addresses:
Compile a list of email addresses and send out your message about your business to them. Keep your message short and to the point and always remember never spam. An effective way to ensure people you are sending your message to don’t get too upset with you is start your message like this….Hi there and thank you for the information about your opportunity, I would also like to share some information about what I am currently involved with. I have used this approach many times and it works well.
Flyers are an easy low-cost way of getting the word out about your business. The nice thing about flyers is that you can design and print almost any kind of flyer right from the comfort of your own home. Flyers can be graphically designed and posted at local community halls, chamber of commerce or other businesses around town. The nice thing about flyers is that they can be a good source of cheap advertising anywhere you can stick one up for everyone to see. The same applies when you post a textual flyer online. Places like Craigslist or the many Ad Board and Classifieds sites are a good place to start when posting flyers online.
Get involved in online forums:
Participate in online forums related to your home-based business. Offer helpful ideas, advice solutions, and tips. Don’t pitch and never spam. Just be friendly and helpful.
There probably isn’t any better way to build any business than getting out there, shaking some hands and getting to know people. Networking does take time and won’t provide instant results but a strong network is instrumental in building any business.
Write Articles/Blog Posts:
Articles or blog posts are one of the most effective ways to get traffic to any site bar none and are mostly free to do. A well constructed article or blog takes a little time and should be done the right way for maximum results and position you as an expert in your field and showcase your ability to help a potential customer with a product or service. If you are not familiar with article writing or blogging there are places you can go to learn how to get the job done “The Right Way” for little or no money at all.
I strongly recommend article or blog writing the results over time will be truly amazing!
Free Classified Sites:
Classified ads are a significant source of traffic for many businesses big or small. Classified ads are brief, generally a few lines of text only so getting good results will take some thought. A good classified ad should be short, clear and commanding. In as few words as possible tell what you are selling, who should buy it and why they should buy it from you today and how to contact you.
You can simply google classified ads and you will get literally hundreds of results, well worth the effort.
Give something away:
If the opportunity is available to give someone a free trial. If someone has the opportunity to try your product chances are they will want more and possibly tell others about it.
These are only a few of the low cost or no cost ways you can use to market your business and these are what I use on a regular basis. But above and beyond these suggestions, in my opinion, the most effective marketing tool out there is knowledge, without knowledge and proper training the road ahead will be a long one. So how do I gain that knowledge and training?
